A Little Visit Back to Not-So-Long-Ago

Anyone missed me?? Thanks guys for leaving all the sweet comments and messages here when I was away.

I'm not permanently back because A-Levels is tougher than I thought but I'm working super hard (maybe not super but I'm getting there)..

Basically I've moved to a new room in homestay last summer and it's really nice. The walls are pink and lots of space for my stuff. Love the Neverfull, bought it last summer. It's the best bag I've ever had.

I'm loving UK. Although it's pricier here but it's still amazing, the people, the shopping, the food?!?! =)

My super duper adorable bf. He insists he's not. Someone tell him for me!

I miss you!(you know who you are ;) )

Try my best to update soon and check on all the wonderful posts from others whom I have missed. =)

Orange-Chocolate-Inspired Lookdior addict ultra-gloss reflect in 437

So after a long hard week for me, after all the parties and baking, I finally settled down but my skin was still acting out at that time. Regardless of that, I still did one last orange-chocolate look before abandoning make up uncertainly.

On my lips I was using Nude Delight lipstick (Rimmel), Way To Lovelipstick (MAC) and Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss Reflect in 437. Wow, that's a lot of products but I like my lips juicy.

All for now. This was a look from quite a few weeks ago. Will have to get back to some serious makeup posts once I settle down in UK. Talk to you guys soon. There'll be more about my flight to London next.

Why do I look so depressed?!?!

Never thought I'd come to this stage whereI just have absolutely no time to blog. I'm sorry I've not been around but starting school and settling into a new environment, sleeping on a new bed, doing new homework, eating new food and meeting new people, some of which I wished I never did meet, has kept me so tied up that I put on makeup only to look presentable. I haven't been doing anything special and I certainly haven't touched my camera in ages so this is all for now. Thanks to all my followers and all the sweet comments, I'll be back.

For The Perfect Red Lips+Birthday#2 in Penang

Before I start explaining all my birthday pics, here's a red lipstick I treated myself to as a birthday prezzie in KL. I've been searching high and low for the perfect blue-toned red that would make my lips look "classy". Haha. So after reading many good reviews, I went out to get MAC Matte Lipstick in Russian Red.

I love having new lipsticks, they always look so pretty brand new. Anyways, on to the short review.

MAC Matte Lipstick in Russian Red (RM63) approx.USD12

It's the perfect blue-toned red for any skin tone and it glides on okay, very drying to the lips cuz it's matte but the finish looks like a lustre except not so lustre-y if that makes sense.

And on my birthday, 29th of December I wore it for the first time and I freakin love it!

Camwhoring starts here.

So the party was at Hard Rock Cafe but we camwhored at Hard Rock Hotel, it was fabulous.

The complementary birthday cake, blueberry cheesecake which just happens to be my fav cake of all time but I still can't successfully bake one. Haha.

Birthday in KL

This is NOT another baking post. That's my birthday cake(below), baked and decorated by yours truly.

And here's a tip to those of you who are baking, soak your buttery utensils in warm or hot water before washing them, it's way easier and a lot less greasy.

And here are some cookies I had baked the night before. More about that here.

Birthday cake for my cuzzie cuz his birthday is near mine so we all celebrate together. It was a football cake. Notice I said "we all", X has the same birthday as well which is 20th and mine's the 29th. So it's hitting 3 birds with a stone.

Cupcake display also prepared by...

They're both chocolate cakes and I evened out some baking chocolate on the surface and let some dribble down the sides and used an icing tube to decorated the top. Oh and I sprinkled some edible glitter on top to make it sparkle. Next to mine is X's cake, I baked both but she decorated her cake.

Only the next day which was 26th December did I get everything done. Here's the muffin display and the heart on top says EAT ME! as well.

There were 3 different recipes, I baked chocolate muffins, banana muffins and butter muffins. Cuzzies helped with the decorating. Don't they look yummy? And of course, lollies for everyone(below).

Back to the makeup, I use the holiday pigments on my eyes, nothing much really cuz I'm still lost with e/s and on my lips I was wearing, Rimmel's Nude Delight lipstick and Soft Dazzle Dazzleglass by MAC. I really like this combo.

And I tried to do a halo but it was kinda weird looking or maybe I just have a big head. Lol.

And of course, the cam whoring.

I was kinda tired from all the baking and decorating from the night before.

And we bought special candles which were ridiculously expensive.

And the football cake, that took a lot of work. That's my other cuzzie's hand picking at the Oreos, she was really hungry. Haha.

And some ballon blowing thingy was bought by an aunt so everyone started playing with it out of boredom.

And so here are some bubble-blowing/camwhoring moments.

How to make ❤Biscuit Sandwiches

Here's another way of making cute snacks(did I just say cute?) for Christmas or whatever occassion where you need some ASAP but you don't know how to bake those fancy cookies and stuff. I did this for Christmas because I was too busy to do anything elaborate so I hope this helps some of you.

Some of the things you need to make this work:

Chocolate chips

Hot water and a chopstick Use a skewer instead if you don't have a chopstick or a fork if you don't have a skewer. If you don't have a fork then I have nothing to say.

Crackers Or any biscuits you have at home, I do think circle-shaped biscuits look better with what I'm about to do.

Nutella Or any filling you like such as jams or just plain butter with honey(my fav combo).

This is super simple to do so keep reading!

1. I dip my chopstick in the hot water, take it out and drop a drop of hot water onto the back of my choc chip which should be on the flat side.

2. I carefully place the chip on my biscuit. I'm making a heart shape ❤

3. Keep going until the is ❤complete.

4. Paint another piece of biscuit with Nutella.

5. Place the ❤ biscuit on top of it.

6. Serve.

If you wanna wrap it up and give it to someone, here's what to do:

Get some cling wrap.

Remember to let the choc chips dry first cuz if it's not, they're gonna go wild in the cling wrap. Lol.

So put it face down and fold the edges neatly on the top which is actually the behind of the biscuit.

And ta-daa~

This step is optional but I found some cute containers and they fit exactly one biscuit sandwich each so I stored them in there so it's absolutely airtight.

The final product:

I made 3 cuz I have 3 naughty cousins to give'em to. Do try this out, it's super easy and it's a fail-proof way of making festive looking snacks.

Choc Chip Cookies

Here's another baking post, I apologize for not going on blogger for such a long time but I'm back and soon will be embarking on a new chapter of my life in London. I'm totally late on my Christmas and new year posts but I swear they're coming up aftern this post. Everything will be (or should be) in chronological order so do stay tuned and I must say I really missed you guys on blogger (you know who you are!). So here goes.

I'll leave the explaining of why I baked this to my christmas post so keep reading if you wanna know how I decorated my christmas tree with cookies.

So to stick it on the tree, it has to be sealed airtight in cling wrap so it stays fresh.

First, i cut out just enough cling wrap which is the size of the cookie plus about 3 inches allowance at the 4 edges if that makes sense.

Then, I place the cookie face down in the centre of the wrap.

Gather the four edges of the wrap.

Hook it like this with your index finger and your thumb.

Keep twisting til it looks like this. The tighter the better so the cookie is in airtight conditions.

And then I stick the tail under the bundle to secure the wrap.

And ta-daa!

And then hook some cards behind the cookie with a string.

And stick it on the tree!

This step is optional but I put up a cookies below --> sign so my clueless cousins will see'em. LOL.

All I've heard on the radio are Christmas songs since yesterday so here's my holiday post. Lots of pics, not much talking(as if) and hope you enjoy it!

Yesterday, I believe it was, I tried doing a BarbieLovesMAC look but I think it didn't turn out quite well. Only the lips I'm really proud of, but that didn't really have anything to do with me. It's MAC's Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup which I'm loving a lot lately, it really turns up a bright pink on me. Review here.

And here are some pics I didn't intend to post up but did in the end.

On the following day, which is today, which is Christmas eve, we went to visit a relative at the hospital. So some camwhoring was done at the endoscopy waiting area although we didn't know anyone who was going for an endoscope. Lol.

It was a cozy corner with nice comfy cushions and a beautiful view of the night life(or should I say, traffic jam) in KL.

And my nails of the month, still holding up so far. I'm not sure if I should wear this to school in London.

And the following pics to make you laugh if you're feeling down today.

I did some winter clothing shopping at Zara and Mango which I haven't posted up. Maybe I will if I feel like it. =P

Lime Green and Purple Smokey Look

This is day 2 of my KL trip, I don't know why I'm numbering my days here, Lol. But anyways, I saw this look done on Seventeen magazine a while back so I went ahead and recreated it with my CS 88 Colour Palette.

Seriously loving my contacts, my 224 really came in handy with this look. Def gonna be using lots of colour this season so stay tuned for that. I really love colours but have been shunning them since my e/s block (like writers' block? hehe) but it's safe to say that I'm back now with colourful e/s for you guys to see.. Super excited. I've never thought of like lime green with purple but I did it anyways.

Has anyone noticed that my lashes is stick straight in every photo?? Lol. I've super stiff asian lashes that can never curl, it'd take 30 mins to get them nicely curled and 3 mins for them to go back to stick straight-ness, which explains my lack of use of mascaras.

This was the same lips as yeasterdays look. More looks tomorrow(actually today but I'll post tomorrow)...

Okay, I'm running out of captions, so let the pictures speak.

Didn't end up going out but I did bake Cheddar Cheese cake finally! Read more about this here which explains the last time I baked and used the wrong cheese. Hehe, I'm a cheese dummie although I like it a lot.

Day 1 in KL: MAC!!!

I didn't sleep the night before cuz for the first time (not really), I took a morning flight and I generally have a hard time waking up in the morning so I stayed up and did some makeup.

I used my Holiday pigments but I wasn't happy with how I did it cuz I didn't have an eye base so I had a lot of fallout, but anyways, I'm really in love with the Honey Wing series this is their blue lenses and it's fantastic. Even with my dark brown eyes, these lenses just makes them blue. True blue. Love them too death.

I'm not gonna post up what I used cuz I'm lazy (sorry!) and it's 5 in the morning so I really gotta sleep soon but if you have any questions, you know what to do.

I used Nude Delight, a lipstick by Rimmel with some MAC Creme D'Nude lipstick and some Boy Bait Cremesheen (MAC) over it.

So I'm in KL again and you know what that means, lots of mosquitoes, lots of green and lots of shopping trips. And below is some of the greeness. Lol.

And here's a bag tag I got from Room. It costed me RM9.90 (approx USD 2) and it's super cute they have all kinds of colours with different words on them like, "Hands Off!" and "Not Yours!".

And along with that, I paid yet ANOTHER visit to MAC and this time I had to get a brush roll, cuz how else are my babies gonna go to London with me??! Haha, anyways, the brush roll was RM 185(!!! approx. USD 37) and I also got the 224 brush which is just a fluffy crease brush for RM 125 (approx. USD 25)

this brush is from BERNY =) THANKS SO VERYVERY MUCH DAH-LING! I did not type that but hey, thanks to bernie!! I got this brush for my birthday (which is coming up real soon) and I'm super happy bout that, you'll see my next look which was made happen by this brush. I love it a lot and I think if you're having trouble blending or things are just not working out then this brush will totally help cuz blending is key.

And so on to my new brush roll, yay! It has like a Velcro tape to fasten the belt and the end of the belt there's the word MAC which just makes it look so classy, I know I could just buy some random brush roll from a drugstore which would have saved a tonne of momney but I'm really in love with MAC so I just couldn't resist getting more from MAC.

And here's it before being filled with brushes.

Here's the inside, there's a zipped pocket on the right but the left is just a compartment with no zip. There's also a flap in the middle to cover the bristles of the brushes, all the better to protect my fragile babies.

And by the looks of this brush roll at MAC, I asked the guy what if I couldn't get all my brushes in and he was totally snotty saying it's more than enough (gosh, what is it with snobby MAC sales people!?) and I totally proved him wrong.

Look! My kabuki (#182) had no where to go and a bunch of my drugstore brushes had to settle for the pocket where they were hidden and soon to be forgotten. I don't think I can stick with just 1 brush roll once I get more face brushes cuz I definitely am gonna get more. *yawns I'm super tired right now from all the YT video watching, and no, I've not given up on my video-making, it's just postponed, a lot, but it'll come along.

I was tagged by the ever lovely, Kasia, who has a new theme for her blog which I forgot to mention how girly it looked now, anyways, on to the tag, I wasn't sure exactly what to write about but I'm just gonna talk about some recent revelations I've made from all my You tube Video watching (cuz I'm still struggling) and I hope you enjoy this!

1. Drink lots of water.

I do think I'm the wrong person to say this as I hate drinking plain water and people always go, bla bla bla drink water it's good for you and stuff like that but I have really bad skin like I'd break out all the time and it's frustrating and from some YT videos I've learnt that drinking water purges toxins and if you don't drink enough, obviously the toxins will come out from somewhere and the easiest way would be from the pores on your face so drinking water is very important!

2. Sun Protection.

I started using sun protection for my face since a young age not because I like putting a load of gunk on my face (in fact I hate that) but because if you notice older women tend to have these spots on their faces and their arms and that's irreversible so if you don't want to look like that then you've gotta have a layer of sunblock or anything to protect your face. I like using the Biore Perfect Face Milk SPF50+++ cuz it's not greasy, it's dries like a powdery matte so my skin feels light.

3. Moisturize Day and Night.

Before this, like I said, my skin was just oily all the time and it broke out everywhere partly because I didn't moisturize it. You'd think that oily skin doesn't need anymore moisture but the fact is there's a big difference between moisture and oil. The less you moisturize, the more oil is produced by the skin to replace that, except too much of this oil will just clog up the pores so it's best to moisturize all the time so your skin doesn't over-produce oil. Now I rarely get oily, maybe slightly but it's manageable.

4. Eye cream as a highlighter.

A trick I've learnt recently is to use a little eye cream between the under eyes and the cheekbones so that area glistens which kinda makes the face look more highlighted and glowy.

5. Lip concealer for pigmented lips.

I have dark, pigmented lips so most lipsticks, especially sheer type ones don't really show up on me or they just turn an icky shade of purple so what I'd do is use a lip concealer or dab some foundation over my lips before lipstick or gloss so the color shows up better. A good lip concealer would be Lip Erase by MAC which was limited from the DSquared2 collection but it's a permanent at MAC Pro stores.

6. Highlight under brow bones.

I like to use Ricepaper by MAC cuz it's almost nude on me but slightly frostier. If you're an NC 25-30 like me then this is perfect or if you like matte shadows then Blanc Type is a good e/s also by MAC to try out. Even if I'm gonna leave the house without a shed of makeup (rarely nowadays), I'd still put on some highlight cuz I think it really makes a difference.

7. Bronzing powder for a good glow.

Tanning is bad for your skin but I do think that using a little bronzer around the right areas can give you the same glow from tanning minus the negative effects of tanning. I like using MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden to contour my cheekbones and under certain lights, it makes me look kinda tanned.

8. Fixing spray for lasting makeup.

Another recent revelation of mine is that by using a fixing spray such as the MAC Fix+ Spray or Evian Facial Mist, you can aboid having to touch up your makeup throughout the day and energize your skin as well to prepare your face for a long day.

9. Vaseline for everything.

I love Vaseline on my lips so they stay supple throughout the day. I religiously use it at night but not so much during the day. I think it's very multipurpose, you can use it basically anywhere to smoothen rough patches on your skin or just to moisturize.

10. Vitamiin E or acne and scars.

Another revelation of mine is that Vitamin E can spot treat pimples or scars so stock up on almonds cuz they have a high content of vitamin E or you can easily go to the pharmacy and get some pure vitamin E.

A Relaxing Stay at Rasa Sayang Resort *very pic heavy

Day 1:

On the way out to dinner, on foot.

Italian obviously, from my post a very long time ago, you'll know that I do NOT fancy Italian food. It's just so cheesy that it's tasteless. (Sorry to the Italian food fans!)

A beautiful restaurant but it was empty when we went cuz it was drizzling outside and the thing about people living in Penang is their laziness to eat out or even go out when it's raining.

Refreshing OJ. I do suspect that they added sugar to this one. =(

Bruschetta. The only thing Italian I'm in love with.

Magarita Pizza or Pizza Magarita? Anyways, this is the cheesy disaster that ruined my liking for anything Italian. The first bite is delicious but as you go on, it kinda gets boring.

On the way back, on foot.

At the hallway some part in the huge resort. That red thing looks really suspicious. It had a hole in it but there was nothing inside. I think it's for decorative purposes?

A beautiful display(probably used in the mornings) of teacups.

Christmas tree #1. Look at the prezzies! So tempted to...

Comfy cushions. The resort is themed woody.

Love the chandeliers.

Guess what this is? It's not a crystal ball. It's a thing used mostly for plants. It's actually like a speck of sand but when you soak it in water, it evolves into a squishy ball to supply water to plants. I love these things, I found it in one of the plant pots.

I love the colour combination for the cushions. Red and orange. Wonder what it looks like on the eyes.

Weird boat looking thing. Someone suspected that each stick-like thingy represents an element. No idea how that came up.

Even the wet floor sign is wooden.

And branded soap? I really feel 5-star!

Day 3:

That is Hard Rock Hotel, a hotel I really wanna stay in, it's really modern and has a very hollwyood feel to the place. We didn't go there but we had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe before going home. More pics inside.

And I end this post with this rainbow caused by a leaky pipe. I call this a miracle.

Another Failed Video + Nails!

I was having another failed video day so no video yet. I'm really losing it. And my optimism seems to have faded away. I will try again tomorrow because a promise is a promise even if I look like I have the pox. So here's the look I was doing..

I really love it. (because I decided to when I saw it ages ago) And it's finally in along with Jade Rose and a pearly white one. They're all limited so get them while you can!

And I visited MAC as usual and I finally got this set, I've been pondering forever but all the video failures kinda made me depressed so I bought this to make myself feel better. X3

I promised to post up a video today but I didn't. Reason's cuz I did the whole video but then thing's kept going wrong and when I finally editted everything, I just chickened out. My excuses include: bad skin, bad lighting, unclear sounds, bad focusing etc. So here's a bunch of photos from my shoot for a new background in KL just to entertain you while I try to pep talk myself. =3

MAC MSF Natural is the best thing to wear alone or on top of something else. Perfect with a #187 brush.

I like how this photo turned out, my arms are in the right places ;) lol.

It looks like I'm in a dry baby swimming pool but that's actually a balcony. =3

And this is another model from Popteen which I'm just in love with. She's very edgy and different from the rest.

Going Blonde?!?!

Okay, so I'm not entirely crazy about Japanese culture(wished I was) but I do love Popteen Magazine and the girls inside are so inspiring for me cuz being a schoolgirl (like goody-2-shoes) for so many years, it's hard to finally break free and do anything I want. But, this Christmas I'm going dye my hair.(!!!) I'm nervous too!

I was thinking blonde cuz I saw 白井美穂 on Popteen and I really like her. So here's a good pic of her. I know Kumicky(2nd pic, girl on left) is really popular now but I prefer pretty, demure kinda girls? Like not so crazy.

So what do you guys think? Or should I stick to hazel brown which was/is Plan A. But, I just think brunettes are overrated? Lol. I've seen some bleach-blondes (eg XX) and it's just weird? But I was thinking a warmer shade of blonde might suit me?

Her hair in this 2nd pic(right) really reminded me of Nicole Richie. But I'm really up for change this Christmas, I hope I don't regret my decision.

This is basically a spray with caffeine as one of the many ingredients to energize the skin while making makeup stay put. Spray once before makeup and once after holding the spray 12 inches away from the face to get makeup to stay for one whole day!

MAC Cremesheen Lipsticks in Creme Cup, Creme D' Nude and Ravishing (RM 63each) approx USD 10

I've been looking for these shades back in Penang but the MAC store (or should I say outlet, it's not an independent store) didn't carry these shades. Had to grab'em the moment I saw'em. All are cremesheens which is pigmented but still moisturizing at the same time, amplified and mattes are (very) pigmented but are too drying to the lips so cremesheens are in-betweens.

Swatches below: L-R

Creme Cup: A rosy pink, more pigmented than Angel or Way To Love but just as moisturizing.

Creme D' Nude: It's just skin nude. It blends almost seemlessly into my NC30 skintone.

Ravishing: It's orange, like really orange but not neon bright.

MAC Eyelash #40 (RM 45) approx. USD9

My favourite lower lashes. It's natural but still subtly noticeable. Best to create big, bright, dolly eyes. I usually snip it in half or 3/4 and stick it on my outer corners of my lower lashline.

Me and X at my aunt's new shop ICEdressme at Midvalley. I'll remember to get some pics the next time, do check it out if you're in KL. It offers a wide range of evening, cocktail and prom dresses. The best part is almost every dress is unique, meaning you can't find another one anywhere else.

And here's me on my 2nd day of KL and on the way to the airport back to Penang after 3 nights of sleeplessness. I think this qualifies as my forgotten Halloween look.

MAC Impassioned Lipstick + Phiff! Dazzleglass

Had e/s block during my KL on Wednesday so I did a bold lip instead. Here's MAC Impassioned (swatches here) and MAC Phiff! Dazzleglass(swatches here). Currently having a mild fever and cold. *Huh-chooo!! Sorry, I stayed up 3 nights so I kinda asked for it. Anyways, this is just an update about everything and I'm gonna start my 12 days of Christmas Makeup which will count down to Christmas so it starts on Monday (when my exams are officially over) and I'll be posting up 12 diff makeup looks and tutorials here and on youtube!

The 2nd pic is just a lip swatch of MAC Impassioned Lipstick alone. It's really loud in real life but somehow my camera mutes the colour. Under flash it's like an off-red, hot pink shade but sometimes it just looks like a dark hot pink. Lovin' it so far.

I'm gonna post my MAC haul (yet again) in the next post. Is anyone else having a hard time with the new editor? I just can't get the things to move into the right places. LOL.

Nude Look with Ash Wing Lenses

I was trying really hard to do "natural" makeup plus falsies. Lol. My best attempt using only MSF Natural as a base. I didn't usie any liquid foundation.. !!! I can't live without foundation! Anyways, I tried out Ash Wing (aka the grey lenses from Honey Wing series) today. It made me look really.. sad? Like innocent, sad. Imagine Memoirs of a Geisha looking sad. If you watched the movie, Zhang Ziyi was in fact wearing grey lenses. I'm def in love with the lenses. Grey still suits me best. Plus, it looks mysteriously blue under flash.

It kinda looks blue but then it's not. I freakin love this pair. It's quite similar to Angel Grey minus the weird black patterns so this one's more natural.

I feel like I didn't use as much as usual(but it's still looks like a lot. Hehe) and I was having a difficult time with the Majolica Majorca e/s. They were so creamy that when I applied it, it wouldn't blend. It was just really patchy. Definitely have to learn how to blend cream shadows.

We went to Queensbay today!! Finally! I have been dreaming of going since ages ago. So we had dinner at TGIF! But it was saturday.. Lol

Stage e/s Palette in 03Gossip RM 135

(there's a leaflet in store that gives you a RM10 discount so you pay only RM125, what a steal!)

FYI, Stage is a Malaysia cosmetic brand and many say it resembles MAC. So I got this palette which I'm SUPER excited to try out. All the colours are pigmented, smooth, creamy and FABULOUS! Perfect for clubbing IMO.

L-R: Black, Maroon, Dark Green, Cocoa, Beige.

I really think the names of the e/s are kinda messed up.

Black: Not black, it's navy with a purple sheen (!!!) and it gorgeous.

Maroon: It's duo-chrome(did I get that right?) It's purple with a little pink.

Dark Green: Nope, it's silver. Very blah colour IMO but still super smooth and pigmented!

Cocoa: More like a shimmery bronze, I imagine cocoa to be a matte brown which is def not what this is. This ne is the most shimmery one out of all with some gold flecks (GORGEOUS!!!!)

Beige: Not at all. It's white! Plain, creamy white!

More about the collection

It's their second collection this year(correct me if I'm mistaken) and I love this collection better than Floral Fatale earlier this year.

It features 2 e/s palettes, 2 new lashes(super pretty!), 4 new lipstick shades, 4 lipglosses, 1 eyeliner(West End White) and so on. (correct me if I'm mistaken =3)

Some swatches:

Between the 2 e/s palettes, I chose Gossip cuz it's so clubby! It'd be perfect for clubbers, the colours are fantastic with great payoff. Scandal on the other hand is more for day looks. It's just as shimmery.

Stage Lip Brush-Portable RM35

I also bought the portable lip brush. I'm such a hygiene freak I rarely use the lipgloss applicators directly but the problem with lip brushes is they don't usually have covers so you can't keep it in your bag without creating a mess. Thank goodness I found this.

The handle can be detached to become a normal lip brush. Def worth every penny.

Small 12 pc containers RM9

After getting 4 pairs of lenses, I really neede some lense cases so I found the perfect thing at Yokoso!, which is a new Japanese thrift store on the first floor at Queensbay. It has lots of nifty things like eyelash holders and DIY masks, false eyelashes, mirrors, containers etc.

So I just put my lens in and close the cap. Oh plus I pour some contacts solution in before capping. Durh.

Taa daa! And it comes with a big container to hold all the small containers together so nothing gets lots. And what I love the most is that the whole thing is transparent so you can see everything and you wouldn't have to open the containers one by one to find the right contacts. PS: the blue thing is to show me that it's the right lens. cuz I have different powers.

New Room, New House

So from my previous new house post, here's an update on my room. I have glass windows and flooring now. Lighting, doors, toilets and wardrobe and I'll be moving in. Hopefully we get wireless then I could blog more often.. =3 So sit back, relax and enjoy the pictures! I've used north, south, east and west to illustrate the room.

The view outside my main windows(east), isn't it breathtaking? Well I think it is. The view of mountains and houses just to remind me of where I'm at.

A few steps back from the previous picture and this is what the east side of my room looks like. The door to the right on the pic leads to the toilet.

If you notice the wall in the right of the previous pic, this is what's behind it and here's where my makeup counter is gonna be. Funny I use the word "counter" but that's what I'm expecting it to be. Just wait and see

And this is the west side of my room where my bed will be.

On the right side of the previous pic is the door and next to the door is this little corner. I'm thinking of putting my wardrobe here but it's kinda small.

The MOST beautiful part of the whole 3-storey house is the stairwell. It's has a full 3-storey length window which I just can't get over.

The hot afternoon was just beautiful through these windows.

I hope you can picture the room, I'm really bad at describing. I can't wait to move in. Thanks for reading as always.

Geo Honey Wing Lenses

GEO Angel Brown is my first pair of brown lenses. I was a bit worried cuz I've seen some brown lenses make eyes look yellow and serpent-y but this one's alright.

Lens: GEO Honey Wing 3tone (yearly disposable)

Price: RM 25 for a pair (approx 5 USD)

Colour Choices: Blue, Grey, Brown, Purple.

Store of purchase: beautygeolens.blogspot.com

Comfort: 3/5 - It is comfortable for about 3 hours under air-conditioning and 6 hours if I avoid air-conditioning. After the hours stated, the lenses will sting(like mad) and once removed, my eyes sting even worse for like half a day. Haha, it's not as bad as it sounds, the stinging is mild but it's annoying..

Natural-ness: 4/5 - The black outer ring is just dark enough for definition without being overly fake. However, up close(or very close) it may look weird but that applies for most coloured lenses. Under sunlight, I look like I have dark hazel eyes.

Big eye effect: Slightly. Not much if compared with GEO Angel Series which is why it's natural-looking.

Repurchase: Yes. But I'm gonna try more before I buy another one of these.

**EDIT: If you feel like the lens is irritating your eye, typically it's cuz the lens is inside-out. So just flip it the right way out and pop it back in and it should be fine. I find it really hard to tell which side is in and which side should be out cuz it looks the same inside or out.

I'm quite happy with this brown but somehow I prefer to be black-hair, blue-eyed.. Hehe.

Too Dolly for You

If you're a MAC fan or a HK fan then you'll know what I'm talking about. Yup, I used MAC Hello Kitty Collection Too Dolly e/s Palette for this look. And you know what, the more I look at it, the more I like this one.

Back to the look, I'm really glad how this turned out, actually I don't think I would ever guess that this combination was created using Too Dolly because none of the colours match the palette but yes, I did, in fact use all the e/s from the palette other than my highlights.

What I did:

Highlighted inner corners and browbone with Ricepaper then Shimmer-Time in inner corners. Too Dolly(sheer turquoise) on entire lid. Stately Black on outer V, blend, blend, blend. Romping(Hot pink w/ purple undertone) in crease. Blend some more, eyeliner, contour, blush, lippie and that was it!

I'm a fierce kitten! LOL. Do I look constipated??

The reason why I used Too Dolly is cuz I feel guilty of buying so much without using "some" of my junk and i'm glad I did that and this has encouraged me to dig out more old e/s and blushes etc. I'm taking it as a challenge and you should too!

Oh and I've been working out some of my issues and I'm prefectly happy with everything right now(*grins and bares it) just hoping the exams would pass sooner.. Thanks for reading!

More GEO for me!

My package came in yesterday and I'm just super excited cuz this time I ordered 4 different lenses. So here are some pics for those of you still considering coloured lenses. I haven't unbottled them yet, will do that one by one once I get bored of my current, Angel Greys. These lenses are yearly disposable and I paid RM25 for each pair(of 3tone lenses) from beautygeolens.blogspot.com

So here's what's inside, the bottles were wrapped with newspaper and it cam with 15(!!) sheets of the lens guide. It's 15 pages of the same thing. Lol. Dunno what happened there.. My lenses took exactly a month, if not a few days more than a month to arrive but starting from the next batch, beautygeolens.blogspot.com will be able to get the lenses within 1 week after placing the order.

Cheddar Cheese Loaf turned Cream Cheese

That's exactly what I mean. The recipe shows Cheddar Cheese Loaf but somehow I buy Cream cheese (I'm a cheese dummie, they all sound the same to me =X) and thus, I present to you, Cream Cheese Loaf! My very first creation! Lol.

It's not bad even though I used milk that tasted a little sour(haha) but it turned out alright, I really like the golden crusts and the soft, moist yellow inside, hungry again....

MAC Exclusives Mineralize Kits Swatches + Mini Haul

So I heard from Jenn that the mineralize kits weren't gonna be in Penang(*gasp) so in KL I went STRAIGHT to MAC(*sarcasm) and I found them there. They're in-stores only which means that if the store is like independent then they carry the kits. The MAC in Gurney is under Parkson(like a departmental store with many floors selling everything) so no mineralize kits. Anyways, I also found Style Black there(!!!) but by then I was more interested in the DSquared2 cuz I wanted Lip Erase but that collection was so long ago.

There are 2 kits: Pinkzapoppin & Fun in the Sun Mineralize Kits. RM300!! (US $59.50)

Swatches:

Pinkzapoppin! M.Kit-

-Love Connection(M.e/s): Both very shimmery colours, one in baby pink(so pretty!) and a brown near orangey.

-Dainty(M.Blush): All I can say is PINK. It's a very typical mid-tone pink which I think everyone has seen enough of.

-Light Flush(MSF): It's peach, pink and a hint of gold, this colour is just so pretty cuz it gives a subtle glow.

-181SE(Kabuki Brush): It's B-graded(#182 which is the full size Kabuki is an A-grade so the bristles are a lot softer) so this one is kinda rough to the touch. Eeks! And I thought I was gonna get the kits just for the Kabuki, you'll see that I just bought it full-size instead!

Fun in the Sun M.Kit-

-Play on Plums(M.e/s): It's peach and a plum e/s. This one is gorgeous. All lightly shimmered.

-Nuance(M.Blush): It's peach!

-Shimpagne(MSF): Light goldish white? Good for highlighting I guess but all over the face would look ghastly for darker skin tones. Very shimmery.

-181SE(Kabuki brush): Refer to the above.

Some Liquidlast Liners someone swatched:

I might not have gotten all the colours correct and some I couldn't find on the website so this'll have to do but I'll definitely go back someday for better swatches. Never considered these liners till today. Aqualine is really bright teal, def for those who want to attract.

What I bought in the end:

1. #182 Kabuki RM160 (approx US $32)

Totally in love with it, it's really soft and I've been wanting one since forever. Remind me to do a full brush review. Lots to cover.

2. Mineralize Blush in Superdupernatural RM95 (US $19)

After I decided against getting the mineralize kits (but I really wanted to but the combination of colours wasn't in my preference and I was DYING for Light Flush!!!!) I needed some blush to compensate for Light Flush which would've been perfect as blush so I got Superdupernatural. It's been raved by EVERYONE and I just couldn't resist any longer.

Swatches:

It's a corally peach which looks really natural on fair to medium skin tones. This one is really pigmented. Can't wait to try it!

Too Smokey for the AIRPORT! + HOTD

I hope you guys are wondering why I'm at the airport. I had to get my fingerprints done at the VFS in KL(capital of Malaysia) for my visa application to UK. Yay!!! So freakin excited about England, was about to get a "I❤LONDON" T-shirt but that will be totally lame. Anyways, you should know that if I'm in KL, I will have lots of photos to post up so you know there's more after this post. Back to the look, I was just using my long-forgotten-MAC-Royal-Assets-e/s-Palette so I did a smokey(once again) and I think I overdid it(not!) cuz in my previous look the e/s was way too sheer(blame Chanel) so I kinda used (a lot)more e/s this time.

What I did:

I highlighted with Ricepaper as usual then I used a shimmery, whitish, silver e/s on the inner corners. Then a matte grey all over the lids, and I outlined a V on each eye with a pearl-finish black e/s. I lined my lower waterline with a matte white pencil and a little of the silver-white e/s on the lower inner corners, black on the outer lower corners and finally eyeliner. I'm using MAC #33 eyelashes as my lower eyelashes(I trimmed them shorter til 2/3 left). I also contoured my nose and cheekbones and some blush, some lippie and I was done! It sounds pretty simple but I took 2 hours(!!!), lol, that's not long for me, I really do take ages with makeup.

On to my HOTD:

My bangs are way overgrown which explains why I usually have'em pinned up and my hair is mid-length to short so what I did was pin the bangs(of course) and I braided a small section on one side of my head, just a small bundle so my hair looked more.. polished? Lol, actually I look more like a hippie but hey, at least I tried.

Oh, oh, BTW, if you haven't noticed, my eyebrows are groomed!! (for once!) Well, the night before I was really sick of studying so I took out the shaver(very carefully) and tweezers, small scissors and a spoolie(the mascara applicator-looking brush, it can be used for eyelashes but I find them ineffective for that purpose). I'm gonna do an eyebrow tutorial once I get used to doing my eyebrows properly. Haha, do you even see a difference? For once, it doesn't look like a jungle up there. Lol. Oh and I practised penciling and e/s-ing my eye-b's to fill them up but I find that pencil works better if you have some gaps(tiny one too) whereas e/s doesn't really fill them up but gives it some definition. I'm really glad I took a bold step trying to fix my hair and eyebrows on the same day(no, in 2 consecutive days!) and I promise to put up some sort of a tutorial for those of you(like me) are totally hopeless cuz I incorporated some tips from other bloggers and I kinda did it in a diff way.

I really appreciate all the nice comments I've been getting from you know who you are and all the silent readers(you too!). Thank you! Oh, I've got a tiny haul from MAC again! Don't shake your head at the screen cuz this is only the BEGINNING! (of my MAC obsession, that is, wait till I set foot in London! =P)

Bird of Paradise Look

This look was inspired by the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra e/s in 15 Bird of Paradise which I bought last week. I had to do it in limited time so I didn't line my lower line. Nothing special really, but the e/s were really sheer and very powdery, definitely not worth RM180 now that I think about it but anyways. I found the perfect lip combo today, which was Nude Delight+Boy Bait. Previously I mentioned how Boy Bait was too sheer for my pigmented lips but over Nude Delight, which is very pigmented, Boy Bait looks spectacular!

What I did:

Gold as the highlight, orange all over the lid, turquoise near lash line. Didn't use the green though. The colours on this palette are really sheer so I had to use'em wet. I swipe the brush with colours then used Evian Face Mist to wet the brush then apply to the eyes. Didn't have time to draw lower eyeline. Haha. Even my falsies aren't equal. Lol.

Yup, I'm referring to the thing that bugs you when it's near that time of the month. The question is, do you get it too?

"Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) (also called PMT or premenstrual tension) is a collection of physical, psychological, and emotional symptoms related to a woman's menstrual cycle." -wikipedia.org

Abdominal bloating
Abdominal cramps
Breast tenderness or swelling
Stress or anxiety
Trouble falling asleep (insomnia)
Joint or muscle pain
Headache
Fatigue
Acne
Mood swings
Irritability
Changes in libido
Worsening of existing skin disorders, and respiratory (e.g., allergies, infection) or eye (bulbar disturbances, conjunctivitis) problems

And here's a list of what I get:

Fatigue

Zits (nasty ones!)

Loss of appetite

Swelled boobs

Irritability (especially in the morning)

Cramps(on the 1st day)

So what do you do about it?

I sleep longer during this pre-menstrual period and I eat less fried food. If I'm 'lucky', I get through my period with only 1 nasty zit but ocassionally I get 2, especially during exam periods. So, I stay at home if possible cuz makeup will only make things worse and the huge zit is usually "un-concealable". I used to take warm water to help with the cramps but lately, they've gotten so bad, I take 50mg of Arcoxia with food but the cramps come and go only on the first day, I guess I'm lucky cuz I don't get it so bad that I have to lie in bed the whole day (I know girls who do).

What about you? Do you get nasty cramps? Zits?

Improvements on my site

When I first started blogging, I just wanted a place to post up all my photos and it was really personal but as I went along, it started to bore me cuz I didn't see a point in that. So I stopped blogging.

Then as I grew a little(maybe a year?) older, I started reading reviews and tutorials online so I was intrigued by how blogging could connect people. Then, I revived my blog to cater to my passion, makeup. As I went along, I realised how important it was to leave comments, to share ideas, to have followers. Not long after, I felt this constant pressure to post something up every-single day and it became really stressful to blog as I felt like it was school where we have to work our butts off to beat someone else. Followers were like ranks. The more you have the higher you are. Then, I just broke and I didn't like blogging anymore.

But till now, I'm still blogging but I constantly battle this dilemma of always trying to do better while still maintaining my passion for makeup. I still don't get it, I don't have what it takes to be a good blogger because I somehow post things that I feel is boring.

I've been keeping to myself (cuz I always do, it's like counselling except with me alone) and I feel it's best if I try to improve myself little by little, starting with my posts.

Please do share if you feel my blog lacks in any way and I'll be eager to fix that.

I Nuovi Eyecake Compact Cake Liner in Hematite (who would've thought this was a liner?? It's perfect as an e/s so imagine it as a liner!!!)

Hematite: A matte black shadow with fine gold flecks, very subtle and very pretty!! Like all I Nuovi e/s, this one goes on really smooth, really pigmented.

Blonde Fever: Gold glitter, I was dying to get this from Connie's tutorial on Las Vegas and I finally did, at RM13!!!!

I Nuovi Perfector Full Coverage Concealer

It's full coverage. Very good!!! cuz it glides on like a feather, very natural, quite easy to blend, perfect(full) coverage with no caking whatsoever. Thank you I Nuovi!!

YSL Golden Gloss in 24 (price unknown cuz my dearest sis bought a YSL Christmas perfume set, yup they have that and for RM475 you get a 250ml eau de parfum with a blush palette and gloss)

It's not as sheer as it looks but the nudeness of this shade is almost similar to NC30 skin tone, like a camoflage somewhat. It has pretty fine gold flecks and shimmers..

Chanel Quadra e/s in 15 Bird Paradise RM180(!!) from the new Chanel Christmas Collection

I can't rationalize buying this because 2xRM90=RM180 which means I could get 2 CS 88 Color Palettes but one of this.. But it's Chanel!!!! Lol. I love it to bits anyways.

This palette features 4 beautiful shimmered colours. It may be a little sheer used dry but with a wet brush, these colours scream GORGEOUS!! I used the beautiful teal-turquoise in my Lost Mermaid Look(previous post).

I really do miss blogging and I'm glad to finally be back but soon enough I'm gonna have some major exams which means I'll have to do the disappearing act again. *sighs Here's a look I wore today with my new Chanel palette and MAC Pigments (both a first for me =) ) and like every other look I do, just looks the same when I open my eyes. How I did it:

I highlighted the eyes and used Hematite in the crease. Then I wet the #139/e/s brush and sweeped on some turquoise from the Chanel Quadra e/s palette. Lastly, I used some Shimmer-Time pigments on my inner corners. Turquoise on the lower outer and Shimmer-Time on the lower inner. Finally eyelined and applied falsies. Some blush, highlighting blush and beauty powder all over.

As for my huge-as* haul from yesterday I won't share today just to build up your suspense. It's scheduled for tomorrow. And I'm really exhausted from all the swatching, buying, makeup-ing and blogging so I'm going to sleep now and I'll be checking back for more lovely comments.. tomorrow!! ;)

Asian Makeup Gone Wrong

This look really reminded me of Connie's video on Asian Makeup Gone Horribly Wrong (lol, that was a great video) and well, this was on the same day that I

a) Had a bad hair day (if my bangs are pinned up, that's what it is)

b) Had a bad lip day (when I can't seem to fix my pigmented lips w/ a little makeup)

c) Had a bad skin day (when I minimize concealing to get an au naturel look but my skin still looks like shi* and then I just load on concealer but I still look like a pimple face and also a tart)

d) Had a low battery sign on my camera (so I didn't get to cam-whore for the hours that I usually do and I couldn't even take pictures of my haul after getting home before I went to sleep which makes me pi*sed cuz I like doing all that before I go to bed)

e) Didn't and couldn't get anything from Style Black (read previous post)

so all in all, it was a rather bad day technically but I was still happy cuz I bought a huge-ass red suitcase for London!!! (if you didn't already know, I'm going to London next year!!! x) Yay, you'll just have to stay tuned next year for the adventures there) And also the Dazzleglass Creme that I settled for after having nothing else to buy at MAC that was limited eedition really cheered me up a bit. I guess, in life, you don't always get what you want and The Makeup Snob's post about How long new makeup stuff can make you happy really got me thinking.

If I bought 2 dazzleglasses on the same day,

will I be as excited

If I bought 1 dazzleglass?

And the answer is yes! so just a single item from MAC (escpecially lipglosses cuz they smell SO GOOD!) can make me really, really happy and extremely, exxtremely cheerful, no matter how bad the day is.

MAC Style Black Disappointment

I think "MAC Gurney Plaza disappointment" should be a more appropriate
title. Having anticipated this collection (and every other MAC
collection) for 2 months cuz this is Malaysia, I never want to miss
anything and having to get the most out of each collection is the only
perk of living in Malaysia and having MAC collections approx. 2 months
after its official launch, I was really exited about Style Black, I
mean who wouldnt't be? I even dressed for the ocassion.(in next post)

Having read the launch reviews and swatches from sites like temptalia
and reading about US bloggers' reviews after buying and trying the
products for themselves, I've always been more than happy to know
exactly what I wanna get from each collection and I meticulously save
up for each collection.

Having done so for style black and knowing that I'd die for those e/s,
those freakin e/s!! I had all my finances planned out. And when
Saturday arrives and I reach Gurney Plaza safe and sound, everything's
sold out!!!! Only thing left was the dirty gold e/s (what's the name)
and the kohl eyeliner. Oh! How disappointed I was. I just felt my
stomach drop and my flaming spirits doused with cold, cold water.

Back to reality.
1. Nothing left for me to buy
2. Mummy says that's a good thing cuz I spend less (#%!@*!)

minute I was thinking of letting it go as I was just too disappointed
to buy anything but rest assured, I still did and I'm glad I did
because it is fabulous!)

c) Biotherm Aquasource Moisturiser (as planned)

During my mist of disappointment, I did remember MA Tammy telling me
about how they only had 6 of one item (e/s or something) coming in.
And I did read lipglosseater's post that evening about how some of the
stuff didn't even arrive (and never will).

I must say that this is no way to do business. MAC may be a huge ass
cosmetic brand and as much as I love and obsess about it, I am really
pis*ed at how this could possibly happen. Imagine, there was nothing
left and only a few days after the launch. 6 pieces for a single item?
And all of the penangites and seberang prai-nites have to fight over
it? Oh, where's the logic in this?!!

But anyways, if you have made it to this sentence, I really have to
apologise for ranting about useless things like these cuz a teeny
bopper like me(or in this case, tiny MAC buyer) couldn't possibly do
anything about it and I really do hope you all had a great weekend.

Pink Swoon vs Iris

So in my previous post, I mentioned how Pink Swoon is so far the best blush I ever had, today, I've reviewed and swatched both Iris by Stage and Pink Swoon by MAC which are 2 of the closest candy pink blushes I have.

I've always wanted that candy pink blush that would look very vibrant but still natural to suit my yellow skin tone. I bought Iris a year ago and I haven't really been using it cuz it doesn't have that fresh candy pink look on my cheeks. It looked more red and I just noticed how it has a purple undertone if you look really close.

As for Pink Swoon, it's just perfect!! I really didn't think I'd find that vibrant candy blush that I dreamt of. Thanks to Tiff, I bought it about a month ago and I'm just lovin' it.

From the swatch below, I'm sure you can tell that Iris has a really chalky texture whereas Pink Swoon is just powdery. But once both are buffed on the cheeks, it doesn't feel so powdery/chalky.
